In their early years, children become familiar with computers through educational games. The learning process puts special emphasis on the recognition of hardware and software, the proper use of the keyboard and the mouse. For this reason, the Clic 3.0 Software has been chosen, because it allows children to develop their learning abilities of higher-order (creativity, ability to solve problems, critical thinking, etc.). Throughout their primary education, students are also introduced to the use of tablets and its importance in the safe search for information and to the use of educational applications developed for such a device.
The aims and objectives of ICT in Lower School are to ensure that all children have the opportunity to:
- Develop their skills on the proper use of ICT, including their knowledge and understanding of the importance of the information and how to choose and prepare it.
- Broaden their skills in the use of hardware and software to manage the information throughout their problem solving process, the recording and printing of the job.
- Increase their ability to apply their knowledge of IT and ICT to further develop their use of language (communication) and their learning in other areas.
- Explore their attitudes towards ICT, their values and their environment; also to make them aware of its advantages and limitations.
